Just a reminder to all ramen fans! Pork bone broth is "TONKOTSU", NOT "TONKATSU". TonkAtsu is breaded deep fried port cutlet, not pork bone broth!!
Hint: If a server says Tonkatsu Ramen at a restaurant, don't expect authentic ramen. Ton = Pork🐷, kotsu = Bone🍖

Kitakuriya - Yokosuka, Kanagawa 🇯🇵

We are now in Yokosuka and my first ramen stop was at Kitakuriya, a Yokohama IE Kei style ramen shop.
 Shoyu Tonkotsu Ramen
I chose regular noodles, soup and fat. Good soup, salty as Ie Kei should be and nice thick noodles. They give you lots of spinach too. The egg is boiled quail egg, which is common in Ie Kei.
 Ticket machine
券売機

Some extra toppings. Sesame, red ginger, garlic, hot chili paste

From street. Conveniently located by Kitakurihama Station.

  1. Once you buy a ticket, what's the next step? Do you give the ticket to a chef or do they know?

    1. Thanks for your question! After you buy ticket, they usually let you know which table/counter seat to sit and will come and get your ticket. Most places with these ticket machines are small so they usually come right away.
